WHAT WE DO

As a formally affiliated ISGS Hub, ISGS-Italia aims to:

• promote gesture and multimodality research at the national and international level
• foster dialogue between senior scholars and younger generations of researchers
• create opportunities for networking and mentoring, supporting early-career scholars

The Hub’s activities include:

• The biennal ISGS Conference https://www.gesturestudies.com/past-conferences
• An annual in-person international meeting hosted by one of the network’s venues (in English and International Sign Language)
• A series of online seminars throughout the academic year, encouraging the presentation of ongoing work and participation of early-career researchers (in Italian/LIS and/or English/International Sign)
• Mentoring and training initiatives supporting conference participation and publication efforts
